A Chelsea player has admitted that it hasn’t been easy since he joined the club and he has been struggling quite a bit.
Naturally, for any new player making the move from abroad into the Premier League can be a tough transition. Some can cope, others will not, and some will just need to have some time to adapt to the pace and the physicality of the hardest league in world football, in my view.
EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea are still interested in signing former Manchester City player despite his move in the summer!
We covered a story earlier today on how winger Jamie Gittens has been struggling since he arrived from Dortmund this summer, but last night he broke a record held by Eden Hazard at Chelsea after a Man of the Match performance in our 5-1 win against Ajax in the Champions League. He’s getting there.
Gittens himself even admitted just how challenging it has been since he joined the club, in quotes relayed before the Ajax game last night.
But there is another player who has been struggling to adapt as well since arriving from another league this summer, and that is actually former Ajax player, ironically, Jorrel Hato.
Hato admits he struggled
In words picked up on X today, Hato said after the Ajax win:
“It hasn’t been easy to move from the Dutch league to the Premier League. It is a big step and I knew that.
“I was maybe struggling a little bit physically and with the tempo of the game in the beginning, [but] I am getting better and better. I am ready when the coach needs me.”
Very good player
I’ve watched Hato for a while and I’ve always thought he was a very good player with a lot of potential. He’s just young and is still learning and developing. Very good signing for us though.
