Manchester United star Amad Diallo has opened up about his growing on-field chemistry with Bryan Mbeumo.
Diallo assisted Mbeumo for the opening goal in the 2-1 victory over Liverpool last Sunday.
Reflecting on their connection, the Ivorian revealed how the duo has found a tactical understanding that brings the best out of both players.
He said (via ManUtd.com): “At the beginning, because he was a new player, we were trying to understand each other.
“But now we found a solution: when he goes to right wing-back, I go as a no.10. When he plays as a no.10, I stay as a right wing-back.
“So I think now we have a very good relationship, even outside the pitch.
“This is very important: not only to have a good relationship in the pitch, but also to have a good relationship outside the pitch, to put some things [together].”
Diallo and Mbeumo causing havoc
Diallo and Mbeumo have been a nightmare for defenders in recent matches, constantly interchanging positions and dragging opposition markers out of shape.
The £46 million-rated superstar makes darting runs on the right flank, stretching the defence and pulling the full back with him.
Mbeumo, who plays as right-sided number 10, draws centre-backs out of position which create precious gaps for Diallo to exploit.
The 23-year-old loves to cut inside and deliver low, dangerous passes into the box.
He nearly grabbed another assist when he pulled back a pass for Bruno Fernandes, but the club captain only managed to hit the post.
Mbeumo started the 2025-26 season brilliantly, with three goals and one assist in nine games across all competitions.
With Diallo now hitting his stride, manager Ruben Amorim will be hoping this developing partnership continues to flourish.
The Red Devils next face Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League tomorrow.
Both Diallo and Mbeumo are expected to be part of the starting XI.
