Chelsea have been handed a boost in regards to Enzo Fernandez with Argentina to travel to Spain in the November international break and play just one game according to reports.
The Argentine is a key player for the Blues, and has made an excellent start to the season with four goals and one assist from 11 appearances in all competitions.
Fernandez returned early from the October international break due to swelling on his knee and subsequently missed the win against Nottingham Forest.
Enzo Fernandez to travel to Spain in November international break
The 24-year-old returned to captain the Blues in their 5-1 thrashing of Ajax on Wednesday night, scoring from the spot, and he was taken off at half time to rest him ahead of Saturday’s game with Sunderland.
Fernandez has pretty much played non stop since the World Cup in 2022, and has had to do a lot of travelling for international duty like all Chelsea’s South American stars.
However, Chelsea have been handed a major boost when it comes to the November break, with X account All About Argentina stating the national team will only travel to Spain for one game.
They took to X.com and said:
“JUST IN: Argentina National Team will travel to Spain in November just to train and will play the only match of the tour against Angola on 14th November.
“No second match against anyone.”
It’s not just a boost for Fernandez, but could also be for Alejandro Garnacho and Facundo Buonanotte if they get called up.
Chelsea want to offer Moises Caicedo new contract
Whilst Fernandez has been in great form, his midfield partner Moises Caicedo has also hit the ground running again this season.
Gary Neville believes Caicedo is currently the best midfielder in the Premier League, and the Blues plan to reward his fine form with a new contract.
Caicedo changed agents earlier this month, and it’s understood he will now be represented by his family, with the Blues keen to open discussions.
