Unstoppable: Teen sensation nets jaw-dropping first goal for Man United

PL News Saturday 25 October 2025 - 12:58

Manchester United starlet Diego Leon announced himself in stunning fashion with a breathtaking solo goal for the Under-21s against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Paraguayan wonderkid joined United from Cerro Porteno for an initial fee of £3.2 million, potentially rising to £7m with performance-based add-ons.

The 18-year-old is cutting his teeth with the Under-21s as he adapts to the pace and physicality of English football.

He took a huge step forward in that journey by opening his goal account in spectacular style.

Picking up a pass from Gabriele Biancheri deep inside United’s half, Leon embarked on a mesmerising solo run that left Spurs defenders chasing shadows.

He got the better of six Tottenham players, including bulldozing the last defender to the floor before firing a right-footed shot past the goalkeeper.

The brilliant solo effort put United 3–1 ahead, and Leon was withdrawn seven minutes later.

His rise has been rapid. He made his senior international debut for Paraguay earlier this month in a friendly against South Korea.

He played for nine minutes and completed all of his passes.

Today’s goal will only boost his confidence further as he dreams of earning a senior debut at Old Trafford in the near future.

Breaking into Ruben Amorim’s first team will not be easy, with Patrick Dorgu and Diogo Dalot both competing fiercely for the left wing-back role.

Harry Amass is another fantastic talent and is currently spending the 2025-26 season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday.

Leon has already shown his explosive attacking flair, as seen in his sensational solo strike today.

However, the young Paraguayan will need to sharpen his defensive awareness to truly shine at United.
