Chelsea are into the final 20 minutes against Sunderland, and things are getting tense.
The Blues scored to go ahead and looked like they should be cruising, but instead they let the Black Cats back into the game through a long throw.
Now Enzo Maresca is rolling the dice – his first change is to bring on rising star Estevao Willian, who scored his first Champions League goal on his first start in that competition in midweek.
BBC pundit raves about “next Neymar” Estevao as he arrives to try and earn 2 points
Troy Deeney is on Final Score, and he certainly believes Estevao can make the difference in this game. Deeney had the following to say about the wonderkid:
“He is some player, Estevao. I was talking to Kleberson in the summer about him and he was saying this is the next Neymar, he’s that good,” Deeney said.
“Chelsea have got him early and he’s going to be the next superstar out of Brazil, and so far he’s not disappointed.”
Can he make the difference in this game? We certainly hope so. His impact off the bench was instant as he lashed a shot at goal which was just flicked wide.
This is just the sort of role we want him in. Coming on when we need a goal, at Stamford Bridge, with a team against us sitting deep. He has full license to take risks, dribble at opponents, take shots and do whatever he wants to make things happen.
In other news….
Alejandro Garnacho scored Chelsea’s first goal, finishing from a tight angle for his first goal for the Blues.
We had a great chat with Sunderland site Roker Report on how today’s game could go, which you can read here. this team selection certainly changes our thoughts a little bit.
