'Working Machine': Amorim hails unstoppable trio after thrilling Brighton win

Manchester United climbed into the Premier League’s top four with a thrilling 4–2 win over Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Man United won their third consecutive game for the first time under head coach Ruben Amorim.

Amorim was quick to praise Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko after the victory.

He said via Sky Sports: “They have a lot of talent. I really liked the way the front three defended. Cunha did a really good job defending.

“It was completely different from the first games. Mbeumo is a working machine. Every time we kick the ball, Sesko was there.

“You can have all the talent in the world but if you don’t fight in this league you have no chance.”

United attack is finally clicking

It is high praise from the United head coach, clearly signalling what the squad had been lacking last season when he took over from Erik ten Hag.

Cunha is a fighter and is driven by a touch of arrogance that every top player needs at Old Trafford.

Amorim has urged him to contribute more defensively, particularly when United risk being overloaded 3-v-2 in midfield.

United can easily obstruct that route if Cunha or Mbeumo drop deeper at times when they are out of possession.

Sesko has a clear role in the team. Standing 6 ft 5 in tall, the Slovenian is the team’s focal point and is tasked with winning aerial duels from long balls and flicking them to Mbeumo or Cunha.

He did that to great effect against Chelsea, when their goalkeeper Robert Sanchez fouled Mbeumo and picked up a red card.

Amorim described Mbeumo as a “working machine,” and we completely agree.

The 26-year-old presses with unbreakable energy, sprints with blistering pace, and finishes with cold-blooded precision.

The signs are positive and Amorim must build on this positive momentum.
