Aston Villa are one of the most in-form teams in the Premier League at the moment.
Having won their last four matches, Villa’s determined 1-0 win over Man City lifted them into eighth place in the table.
Amadou Onana and Boubacar Kamara have been excellent in midfield, whilst Pau Torres and Ezri Konsa defended superbly against Erling Haaland on Sunday.
Unai Emery is once again showcasing why he is one of the best managers in world football, and Villa fans are optimistic that their side can be competing for Champions League football once more.
Aston Villa will now look to pile more misery on Liverpool as they travel to Anfield on Saturday.
Liverpool predicted as heavy favourites to claim much-needed win over Villa
Whilst Aston Villa have won their last four league matches, Liverpool have lost theirs, and a crisis is unfolding around Arne Slot.
However, Anfield will play a huge factor in the match, with the atmosphere expected to be ferocious as fans will be spurring their side on to secure a long-awaited three points.
According to Opta’s supercomputer, the Reds are expected to get back to winning ways on Saturday.
- Liverpool have been given a 56.9 per cent chance of claiming all three points
- Aston Villa have a 20.8 per cent chance of securing their second away win of the season
- A draw has been given a 22.3 per cent probability of occurring
Whilst this is clearly debatable given current form, Liverpool shouldn’t be underestimated as they still possess several world-class players.
There are still question marks over the form of some of Villa’s attackers, not least to mention Harvey Elliott’s exclusion from the squad against Man City.
As he prepares for the match against his former side, Elliott must train well and get himself back in Emery’s good books if he wants to make a statement against the club that let him go.

Based on recent evidence, it’s clear to see that Villa will have some joy against a side that looks completely devoid of confidence.

Aston Villa won’t face issues creating chances against Liverpool
Liverpool just suffered a 3-2 loss to Brentford, and Villa are more than capable of exposing their weaknesses from set pieces.
Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate have looked like a shell of their former selves, and it could provide the perfect opportunity for Ollie Watkins to rediscover his scoring form.
Watkins has disappointed for large parts of this season and if he can step up his level, then Villa will be a lot more threatening against Liverpool’s struggling defence.
Whilst Anfield is a tough place to go to under any circumstances, Emery’s side may have the best chance of securing a first away win against Liverpool since 2014.
