Nobody knows why Christopher Nkunku’s move to Chelsea failed in the end, but it was certainly far from a success.
He of course did struggle with injuries whilst he was at Chelsea, so it was hard to gain sustained momentum and regular playing time. But I think when he did get the chances, he was also played out of position and in a system that perhaps just didn’t suit him.
His form wasn’t great and dipped in and out, and overall, he was just very inconsistent at Chelsea and ended up leaving the club.
Lingering effects
According to Italian reporter Daniele Longo, Max Allegri sees Nkunku only as a second striker at AC Milan, his true role. He has the skills and experience to make an impact and grow, but the feeling is that there are still some lingering effects from the last two seasons at Chelsea.
In other news today
Enzo Maresca has confirmed Alejandro Garnacho is his starting left winger right now but the competition for him is about to get much greater.
Meanwhile, The Blues boss has also called for more from winger Pedro Neto, who he has also given a lot of praise for in recent times.
