Second half goals from Ethan Nwaneri and Bukayo Saka sent Arsenal through to the Carabao Cup quarter-finals at the expense of Brighton.
The visitors spurned some good first half chances and were made to pay the price as Mikel Arteta’s men stepped up their performance after the break.
Youngsters Max Dowman and Andre Harriman-Annous were both starters, and contributed well to the victory, with the latter’s shot saved before Saka stepped up to slot home the rebound.
