A Chelsea insider has insisted that The Blues cannot be taken seriously until they fix one major problem this season.
Last night, Chelsea were 3-0 up at half time against Wolves in The Carabao Cup fourth round and were absolutely cruising the game. It looked far too easy at that point and everyone expected Enzo Maresca’s side to cruise on through to the final whistle.

But the second half was a completely different story. Wolves turned good, Chelsea turned VERY bad. The home side managed to grab some goals back and if it wasn’t for a Jamie Gittens screamer from outside the box, we could have easily been here talking about how Chelsea threw away a 3 goal lead to relegation battlers Wolves.
But come the end, Chelsea held on to win the game 4-3 and advance into the quarter finals of the competition.
It unfortunately just showed up a pattern that Chelsea have under Maresca, whereas they cannot seem to play well for 90 minutes of any game. It’s always a good first half or good second half, mainly the second, but not a good whole game.
Kieran Gill speaks
Chelsea insider for The Daily Mail, Kieran Gill, wrote this after the Wolves game last night:
“Chelsea cannot be taken seriously until they prove they can play for 90 minutes.
“Not for the first time, Maresca’s side showed how much they struggle to play a game of football for 90 minutes. It was worrying how they allowed Wolves back into this clash, as if they have not learned lessons from their mistakes in previous matches.
“We saw the worst of Chelsea in the second of the three goals they conceded needlessly here.
“If Chelsea want to be taken seriously as competitors, they cannot continue to make a mess of matches like this. They won, but only a wonder-strike from Jamie Gittens against the worst side in the Premier League sent them into the Carabao Cup’s quarter-finals.”
