Chelsea will hold talks with Tyrique George closer to January to decide his immediate future at the club according to reports.
George had a breakthrough campaign last season as he was promoted to the first team squad and scored three goals in 26 appearances in all competitions.
The teenager was part of the squads which won the Club World Cup and the Conference League, but his future was in doubt in the summer.
Chelsea to hold Tyrique George talks in January
However, the Blues made five attacking signings in the summer, which pushed George further down the pecking order and significantly reduced his chance of minutes.
George was linked with both RB Leipzig and Roma, but moves to either club failed to materialise, although it appeared he was going to leave the club on deadline day.
Fulham agreed a £22m fee for George, but the deal collapsed with the Cottagers opting to sign Kevin and Samuel Chukwueze instead.
Since the collapsed move George has been welcomed back into the squad, and has made eight appearances in all competitions.
George scored in the Carabao Cup win against Wolves on Wednesday night, and Mail Sport have revealed Chelsea will hold talks with him over his immediate future closer to January.
The reports adds the 19-year-old will have a big say in whether he stays at Chelsea or decides to seek a new challenge.
Fierce competition in Chelsea attack
There’s fierce competition for places in Chelsea’s attack, but given injuries to Liam Delap and Cole Palmer, he’s played more minutes than many would have expected.
The England under-21 international has played as both a winger and a centre forward, and between now and January he will likely get more opportunities.
However, the reality is if he wants to be a first team regular he will likely need to go and find another club as there simply isn’t that guarantee at Chelsea.
