Jamie Gittens has made an honest confession after he scored his first goal for Chelsea in the Carabao Cup against Wolves.
Chelsea won a crazy game 4-3, despite being in control and leading 3-0 at half time thanks to goals from Andrey Santos, Tyrique George and Estevao.
However, Chelsea fell apart in the second half as Wolves mounted a comeback, only for Gittens to fire home an unbelievable strike late on.
Jamie Gittens makes Chelsea goal admission
Gittens has had a slow start to life at Chelsea following his initial £48m move from Borussia Dortmund, but he’s started to find his feet in recent weeks.
The England under-21 international was named man of the match in the win against Ajax, and he was the star of the show against Wolves.
Not only did he score, but Gittens also registered two assists and was a constant threat to the Wolves defence throughout the game.
It’s hard to imagine scoring a better first goal, but Gittens made an honest confession after the game about his goal.
“I just thought I would try and shoot because I was tired, and it went in off the post,” he told Chelsea’s website.
“There were lots of emotions in the celebrations.
“Of course, I would’ve wanted to score earlier [in my Chelsea career], but it’s happened now and I thank God that I have scored today, and I hope there are many more to come.”

Enzo Maresca has headache in wide positions
There’s fierce competition for places in the wides areas and the form of Gittens and Estevao is giving Maresca a headache.
Both impressed against Wolves on Wednesday night, and arguably should be starting against Tottenham on Saturday.
Pedro Neto has been first choice on the right wing for most of the season, whilst Alejandro Garnacho has shown bits here and there.
However, Maresca now has a big decision to make, and he should be going with Chelsea’s two most inform wide players, but it remains to be seen what he’ll do.
