Arsenal have confirmed that teenage striker Michelle Agyemang has ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament. Agyemang, who is on loan at Brighton for the second consecutive season, suffered the injury on international duty this week.
Agyemang was a second half substitute for England’s 3-0 friendly victory over Australia at Pride Park on Tuesday night but had to be replaced after falling awkwardly. Immediately after the game, England boss Sarina Wiegman admitting, ‘it doesn’t look good.’
The Arsenal academy graduate made waves over the summer with two massive goals for England in the knockout stages as they went on to win the Euros. This injury likely ends the 2025-26 season for her. The news follows on from Gunners goalkeeper Manu Zinsberger rupturing her ACL in training recently.
All the best to Michelle in her recovery.
