John McGinn could have a perfect opportunity to shine for Aston Villa away to Liverpool.
Villa are preparing to face Liverpool at Anfield with the hope of making it five wins from five in the Premier League.
The Villans will travel to Merseyside on Saturday, just a week after Villa beat Manchester City 1-0 at Villa Park in a statement victory.
John McGinn was excellent against City and will be keen to replicate that when facing Arne Slot’s reigning Premier League champions.
The Scotland international will have faith that he can do exactly that after what McGinn saw from the Reds in their defeat against Crystal Palace.
Milos Kerkez had a Liverpool shocker vs Crystal Palace
Former Villa scout thought Kerkez could move to B6 after what was a stellar campaign at Bournemouth last time around.
The 21-year-old was one of the star defenders in the entire division with the Cherries and earned a move away from the Vitality in the summer.
Liverpool signed the Hungary international in a highly anticipated signing, but he has failed to hit the ground running in L4.
The left-back’s Anfield career was summed up against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night as Kerkez was poor in a 3-0 Carabao Cup win.
Kerkez featured for the full 90, but was unable to complete a single defensive action while only winning 33 per cent of his ground and aerial duels.
This lack of output didn’t yield a positive attacking performance, as the former AZ Alkmaar man made just six passes into the final third on Merseyside.
The poor showing in a 3-0 loss could give McGinn all the encouragement he needs ahead of a trip to face the Reds.
John McGinn could thrive for Aston Villa vs Liverpool
Against City last time out, the Scot operated as an unorthodox right midfielder as the 31-year-old helped deal with the away side’s attacking depth.
The skipper put in a stunning shift before being taken off with 16 minutes to go as Unai Emery looked to protect his side’s 1-0 lead.
McGinn still registered two shots and chipped in with one cross and four long balls, clocking up an expected assists tally of 0.15.

In trademark fashion, the midfielder won four of his six duels and was fouled on four occasions, something which could cause problems for Kerkez.
Villa will be keen to see their captain up against the struggling Hungarian in what could be a massive element in the upcoming game at Anfield.
