Manchester United are delighted by the progress of Vasco da Gama winger Rayan and could hold formal talks to sign him ahead of January, according to Bolavip.
The 19-year-old has had a fantastic campaign with Vasco da Gama. He has scored 16 goals and provided one assist from 48 appearances across all competitions.
United are among the clubs that have been monitoring Rayan, and Bolavip claim that they are strong contenders to sign him during the next transfer window.
The Red Devils have been investing in plenty of young players. Rayan is seen as a very promising gem, who has the attributes to succeed in the Premier League.
He is fast, strong and has a very distinctive physique which is essential for English football.
It is claimed that official talks could take place ahead of the January transfer window.
Rayan would be a good acquisition
The 19-year-old has made good progress this season. He has accumulated an impressive 17 goal contributions, primarily playing from the right wing position.
However, the left-footed ace can also operate as a centre-forward. He has scored in his last two appearances as the main striker for the Rio de Janeiro outfit.
His versatility should be an obvious attraction for United. Aside from his goal involvements, Rayan has also impressed with his defensive work on both ends of the pitch.
He has won 3.4 ground duels and almost two aerial duels per league appearance. Rayan has likewise made recoveries and he does not shy away from tackles.
It has been previously reported that Vasco da Gama could sanction his sale for £26 million. They could accept a lesser fee upfront with the remaining in add-ons.
Vasco da Gama are still hopeful of extending Rayan’s contract expiring in December next year. If they are unsuccessful, a winter sale appears the right thing to do.
Waiting until next summer could force them to accept a cut-price fee if he does not pen a new deal. United must capitalise on their situation to prise him away.
