Jamie Carragher was full of praise for one Chelsea star in particular after the Blues beat Tottenham on Saturday evening.
Chelsea ran out 1-0 winners with Joao Pedro scoring the only goal of the game, but the scoreline should have been far more comfortable.
Pedro himself could have had a hat-trick whilst Jamie Gittens missed a huge chance at the end with the goal at his mercy.
Jamie Carragher hails Moises Caicedo performance
Enzo Maresca made a number of changes from the side which beat Wolves, with Moises Caicedo restored to the starting line-up.
Caicedo was instrumental in the goal as he won the ball back high up the pitch and then played a simple pass to Pedro.
Maresca claimed after the game Caicedo and Rodri were the two best midfielders in the world, and Carragher was full of praise for the Ecuadorian.
“This was one of those goals when it’s not about the goalscorer, it’s all about Caicedo, he’s an absolute monster in midfield,” Carragher said on Sky Sports commentary.
“He makes challenge after challenge and basically gets Chelsea that goal. It’s absolutely fantastic from Caicedo and exactly what Chelsea have deserved.
“I upset Chelsea fans, not for the first time by saying Declan Rice was just ahead of this man [Caicedo]
“But right now we are watching two of the best midfielders in world football, there’s no doubt about that.
“There’s no shame in being behind Rice, in my eyes. They’re both absolutely fantastic.”
Chelsea blessed in midfield
Chelsea have a squad full of talent, but they are blessed with one of, if not the best midfields in the league, with Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, as well as Romeo Lavia.
Fernandez also put in a top performance against Spurs, whilst Lavia came off the bench, and is another hugely talented midfield player.
However, despite the talent Chelsea still need Caicedo in order to make the team tick, and it’s not up for debate anymore that he’s Chelsea’s most important player.
