Thomas Frank has admitted there were two areas Tottenham were unable to match Chelsea in during their defeat on Saturday evening.
The Blues recorded a much needed 1-0 win with Joao Pedro scoring the only goal of the game in what was a dominant performance.
The scoreline should have been wider, and Pedro could have had a hat-trick, whilst Jamie Gittens missed a sitter with the goal at his mercy.
Thomas Frank praises Chelsea performance
Enzo Maresca once again made a number of changes to the starting line-up, with Wesley Fofana and Trevoh Chalobah deployed at centre back, with Reece James in midfield and Alejandro Garnacho starting on the left.
The Italian got his tactics spot on and Chelsea completely nullified Tottenham’s game plan, with the Blues playing with high energy and high intensity, two things Frank felt Spurs simply couldn’t match.
“First and foremost, I think Chelsea performed very well,” he told Tottenham’s official website.
“We were the second-best team today. There’s no two ways about that. It was a bad performance.
“So, we’re frustrated about that in a London derby against Chelsea, a game that means the world to the fans, we’re very irritated about it.
“I think we lacked the energy and intensity. We couldn’t match, for whatever reason, Chelsea on the day.”
Moises Caicedo shines again
Chelsea to a man were brilliant, but once again Moises Caciedo stole the show with another man of the match performance.
Caicedo was instrumental in the goal as he won multiple challenges in the build up, and Jamie Carragher hailed him as absolutely fantastic during the game.
Enzo Maresca claimed the 24-year-old and Rodri are the two best midfielders in the Premier League, and on the evidence of this season it’s hard to argue against Caicedo being right up there.
