This winter could see a big transfer move for one England player, and Chelsea are apparently ones to watch in this.
We are approaching the January transfer window now and although these will never be as busy as the summer windows are, there will be some opportunities for clubs to bring players in if they wish to.
EXCLUSIVE! When Cole Palmer is expected to return to the Chelsea squad – plans laid out!
Chelsea aren’t going to be that busy, but they will always be taking a look at some situations and any opportunities to bring players in.
There is one developing situation that could spark up this winter, and that is the future of England international Elliot Anderson.
According to a report from Caught Offside, Anderson is one to watch this winter window.
United chase Anderson
Manchester United are ready to step up their efforts to sign the midfielder, per the report. Sources have told them that Man Utd are really keen on Anderson, though they would face paying as much as £70m for the England international.
Chelsea also in the mix
The report goes on to state that it is also anticipated that they will face particularly strong competition from Manchester City, while Chelsea and Newcastle United will also be names to watch in the race for his signature.
I see this being the next biggest transfer saga and it will be interesting to see if Chelsea do get involved in this. The only way I can see Chelsea getting involved is if they end up selling Enzo Fernandez to Real Madrid anytime soon, something I actually can see happening down the line.
I think Chelsea would turn to someone like Anderson as a replacement, if this is a scenario that ends up happening.
