“He’s a boss” – Chelsea player hails his incredible teammate after monster showing against Spurs

PL News Monday 3 November 2025 - 10:58

Robert Sanchez was great for Chelsea in their win over Spurs on Saturday.

The Blues needed someone to nullify the threat from their opposition at set pieces and long throws, and Sanchez proved the perfect person. The team focused on clearing space for him, and he made the big claims, time after time.

But he wasn’t the best player on the pitch – that award had to go to Moises Caicedo, and after the game Sanchez sang his teammate’s praises in quotes picked up by the Daily Mirror.

“He’s one of the best in the world, who is better than him in that position? He’s a beast. Every 50-50, every challenge he wins and is so composed on the ball,” Sanchez said of Caicedo, whose energy inspired the whole team to new levels against their rivals.

“I haven’t seen him change much [since arriving at Chelsea]. As a player and as a character, he’s always been the same, hard work, effort, quiet but a very good guy.

“Obviously, he’s filled out with his body a bit more with age and with experience, he’s just got better and better on the pitch. His confidence has also gone higher and higher. He’s a boss at winning the midfield.”

We’ve seen the same thing ourselves, and we just hop that some of our other players can reach the same level.

In other news…

Caicedo isn’t just a beast on the pitch – he’s also a really disarmingly humble and gentle fella off it, and his comments after his man of the match performance proved that once again.

Caicedo was the key to Chelsea’s press, and as various pundits said yesterday, we haven’t seen any pressing intensity like it for some time at Chelsea.
