Arsenal’s Carabao Cup quarter-final against Crystal Palace will be played on 23 December at 8pm and will be broadcast in the UK by Sky Sports and ITV.
The tie was originally due to take place on 16 December, but with Palace already set to face Manchester City two days before and Finnish side KuPS in the Conference League the following Thursday, an alternative date was always on the cards.
With Arsenal’s own schedule equally congested, the only realistic options before the new year were Monday, 23 December or Christmas Eve. The latter would have caused obvious problems for travelling supporters, so the earlier date has been chosen.
The match, to be held at the Emirates, will slot between Arsenal’s trip to Everton on the 23rd and a home clash with Brighton on the 27th.
Given the tight turnaround post-Goodison, we imagine Arteta will ring the changes, as he did in the last round against Brighton.
