We’re almost onto the next game, but it’s time for a quick look back at last weekend one more time. Stats site WhoScored have made their team of the week.
WhoScored’s team features one standout Blue
Despite an important win in a big game, just one Chelsea player was in there – Joao Pedro.
The striker did get out goal but we didn’t think he was THAT good – he missed a couple of really good chances to end the game, and could have offered a little more at times as an attacking option. In this game, with Liam Delap suspended, Joao Pedro was moved back to the number 9 where we know he can get a little lost.
His goal was well taken – but ultimately was still a tap in after Moises Caicedo did all the hard work for him.

Of course, the other part of this team that tells a lot of the story is the presence of Guigliermo Vicario in goal. The Spurs keeper was absolutely amazing against us, and made two superb saves against JP as well as a few others from other players.
Had he not had a blinder, JP would likely have had a fair bit of company in there. We’re not quite sure how Caicedo missed out – clearly this rating system likes goals.
In other news…
Jamie Carragher was full of praise for Chelsea on Monday Night Football, starting off with a look at the way they had spooked Tottenham with their high pressing all over the pitch.
Carragher also spoke about Chelsea’s work in possession, and he compared Enzo Maresca to some of the world’s best coaches when talking about the way he coached “rotations” for the Blues.
