Aston Villa are only set to demand £30.8million for Ezri Konsa, according to reports.
The England international has been one of Villa’s most crucial players in recent years, especially on their journey up the Premier League table.
Now a seasoned England international, Konsa is easily one of the best defenders in the Premier League.
Yet, according to a report from Tutto Mercato Web on 5 November, the centre-back is only valued at £30.8m by Unai Emery, with Inter Milan and Liverpool interested in the Villa star.
However, given his importance at the club, this price tag seems obscene.
Unai Emery on verge of massive transfer blunder
In recent years, Villa have not been as successful in the transfer market.
Evann Guessand has been a massive flop at Villa Park since his summer move, with the striker yet to find the net in the Premier League.
On top of this, Harvey Elliott has not set the world alight at Villa, with the Liverpool loanee struggling for minutes.
- Villa’s new summer signings have struggled to date
- This helped contribute to their slow start to the 2025/26 campaign
- As a result, the January transfer window could be vital to Villa
However, the sale of Konsa for such a cheap price would dwarf these blunders tenfold.
The centre-back is arguably Villa’s most important player, and his experience is extremely valuable to the Birmingham club’s ongoing success.
Despite being 28 years old, the defender could easily be a crucial player for another five years under Emery; therefore, it seems baffling that such a low price tag would be placed.

If Konsa is sold for just £30.8m, it would be an unforgivable mistake by Emery, and would surely send Villa backwards.
How important is Konsa to Aston Villa?
According to Fotmob on 6 November, Konsa is outstanding in multiple areas.
His ability to play out of the back is impressive, boasting a 95.8% passing accuracy.
| Ezri Konsa in the Premier League this season | Per 90 minutes |
| Successful passes | 62.18 |
| Passing accuracy | 95.8% |
| Dispossessed | 0.00 |
| Fouls won | 1.26 |
| Blocked shots | 1.03 |
| Dribbled past | 0.11 |
| Duels won | 60.5% |
Defensively, he is also solid, blocking 1.03 shots per match, while also only being dribbled past 0.11 times.
Therefore, Villa simply cannot afford to let Konsa go, or it will leave a massive hole in their backline.
