Loads of Chelsea players got a lot of praise last night, but one surprise one has gotten some deserved praise from a pundit.
We have heard just how good the likes of Estevao Willian and Jamie Gittens were, with Chelsea’s wingers on fire last night. But there was some other fine individual performances too in Chelsea’s 5-1 thrashing of Ajax last night.
Jorrel Hato, the player in question for this article, was even out there praising Estevao last night after the game and compared him with Lamine Yamal of Barcelona. You can see why too.
But Hato himself had his best game in a Chelsea shirt last night in my opinion after a slow start to life in the Premier League.
He is obviously playing second fiddle to Marc Cucurella so he’s finding it hard to get starts and minutes right now anyway due to that, but he’s yet to really show what he can bring, until last night that is.
Hato was outstanding
Though the likes of Estevao and Gittens stole the show against Ajax on Wednesday night, former Premier League goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes that Hato’s contribution also deserves some praise.
Speaking on Football Daily’s Champions League Debrief, the former Premier League goalkeeper said: “Estevao, Gittens, [Romeo] Lavia, they’re getting more game time, Champions League game time. Hato came in at left-back. I thought he was outstanding. He played really well.”

Looks good
Hato has the ability to become an important player for Chelsea, but I don’t think he will be ousting Cucurella any time soon so he may have to keep patient and bide his time.
There is no doubt about the potential being there for him, but he’s still very young and is still developing.
