Aston Villa are interested in signing Joshua Zirkzee from Manchester United, who is keen on a move this winter.

Summer signing Jadon Sancho replaced Emi Buendia, who sustained an injury early in the game.
But with the current Chelsea loanee yet to have a huge impact on the Villans’ season, they’re already searching for reinforcements, and Zirkzee could be the right man for the job.

Aston Villa “admire” Zirkzee’s profile as depth behind their first-choice options, according to Caught Offside on 27 October.
It is understood that Manchester United are looking for a £30-40million fee for the versatile attacker whose contract runs out in June 2029.
Zirkzee has made just five appearances for the Red Devils this season and reportedly wants to secure a move this January transfer window.

It could be that a loan with an option to revisit a fee in the summer could convince Villa to sign him. However, West Ham have already made contact with United to test the waters, so the Villans will need to act soon.
Either way, Villa are more than keen to strengthen Unai Emery’s squad this winter window.
Signing Joshua Zirkzee is a no-brainer for Unai Emery
There is an argument to be made that Zirkzee’s move to Old Trafford stunted his development.
Indeed, United signed the 24-year-old from Bologna in 2024, where he had netted 12 goals and seven assists the previous season.
Meanwhile, he scored seven goals and gave three assists in his first season in England, and while taking time to get used to the pace of English football is a legitimate argument, he showed little progress throughout the 2024/25 season.
After showing such class at Bolonga and during his time at Bayern Munich, it seems Zirkzee is just one right move away from exploding.
Vesatile in nature, his link and hold up play is excellent will offer something different going forward. Indeed, he’s not a traditional striker, but his profile adds something unique to the bench.
Therefore, Emery will be spoiled for choice with Zirkzee as an option, which makes his potential arrival a no-brainer for the Villa head coach.
