Chelsea have been handed the ‘easiest’ draw of the League Cup quarter finals after beating Wolves last night.
Of course, the reason that ‘easiest’ has been put in quotation marks, is because this draw is not easy at all and no game at this level of the competition is going to be easy. However, it is certainly the most favourable draw in terms of the level of the teams they could have been facing from who is left in the competition.

Chelsea had a crazy win against Wolves last night, beating them 4-3 in the end. They were 3-0 up at half time and had an awful second half after what was a very good first half.
It was lucky that Jamie Gittens scored a world class rocket goal from outside the 18-yard box which turned out to be the winning goal in the end, otherwise it could have been a very embarrassing story for Chelsea.
With that win though, Chelsea are now through to the quarter finals of The League Cup!
Blues get Cardiff
Granted, it’s an away draw, but Chelsea have been given Cardiff away in the quarter finals, which is the ‘easiest’ draw they could have got from what is left.
Full draw:
• Arsenal vs Crystal Palace
• Cardiff vs Chelsea
• Manchester City vs Brentford
• Newcastle United vs Fulham
Cardiff are the only team left outside of the Premier League, so that is why we are saying it’s the ‘easiest’ draw and a game that Chelsea absolutely must be winning and should fully fancy going through to the Semi’s now.
Semi’s tougher
I can see Arsenal, Manchester City, and Newcastle also going through though, so the Semi’s might get a bit tougher for Chelsea, should they get there.
