Former Chelsea player Joe Cole has been explaining why Tottenham are now ‘all excited’ to face Chelsea this weekend.

Cole believes that due to current circumstances, there is a different feel to this one now in a game that has always been a big rivalry for the two sides.

Chelsea would usually love facing Tottenham, but this game is not going to be quite as straightforward for them as other games have been in the past. Spurs are in good form and seem to be rising up this season under Thomas Frank, so this is going to be a game that will be hard to call and a game that is actually going to be hugely tough for Chelsea, who are stuttering with their form right now and seemingly also leaking goals.

In words cited on X this week, Cole said:

“Tottenham are now all excited, and they’re looking up at Chelsea, who are not a million miles away from Spurs, but there’s a different feeling to this game.

If Chelsea are going to beat Spurs at the weekend, you’re relying on players like [Pedro] Neto, who’s been brilliant, Jamie Gittens, who scored a goal and got an assist at Wolves, and Estevao.”

The problem with this is, it is actually Chelsea looking up at Spurs right now, because Chelsea are 9th in the league and Spurs are 3rd! Yikes.

Joe Cole has also been speaking about how he believes Chelsea are not as strong as Arsenal this season and has gone on record to say they will not win the league.

There’s been some interesting stats on Trevoh Chalobah that has been assessed this week, and they look pretty good.
