Amorim finally explains the secret behind Man United's big improvement post-Ten Hag

Manchester United will travel to London for a mouthwatering Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Manager Ruben Amorim faced the media ahead of the trip, revealing how United’s recent success has been helped by a much-improved injury record in recent months.

Amorim said (via ManUtd.com): “No, there’s no change [to what we are doing about injuries].

“It’s one game every week and then a little bit of luck, because sometimes you have problems with players with knocks, it’s not something that is soft tissues.

“So you never know what is going to happen in the next training. If you play with intensity in training, something can happen, but I think the big reason… of course, we try to do everything well, the big reason is [we have only] one game every week.

“You can give one extra day to the players that you know could struggle in the next training. I think that is the biggest reason.”

Lisandro Martinez returned to full team training last week and was eager to make his comeback against Nottingham Forest.

However, the Portuguese tactician opted for caution, unwilling to take any unnecessary risk that could aggravate the Argentine’s previous injury.

Amorim has yet to confirm whether Martinez will be involved against Spurs, though his return would be a massive boost for United’s defence.

Harry Maguire picked up a knock following his heroic display at Anfield and was forced to sit out the thrilling 4–2 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.

He returned to the matchday squad against Forest but remained an unused substitute as Amorim managed his recovery carefully.

Noussair Mazraoui has endured a stop-start campaign due to multiple injuries, but the Moroccan is finally back to full fitness and raring to go.

He came off the bench for Leny Yoro in the second half against Forest.

Under former manager Erik ten Hag, United were plagued by persistent injury setbacks that disrupted their rhythm and consistency.

Fewer fixtures and greater attention to player welfare have seemingly made the difference under Amorim.

The United head coach will be desperate to make this advantage count this weekend.

Both United and Spurs currently sit level on 17 points after 10 games, making this clash all the more significant in the battle for the top four.

A victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could propel Amorim’s men up to second place, depending on other results.

October proved to be a highly encouraging month for United, and Amorim will be determined to see his side maintain that positive momentum heading into November.
