Manchester United endured a mixed November, registering one win, two draws, and a defeat, leaving them seventh in the Premier League standings.
United have now announced the three contenders for the club’s November Player of the Month award.
The nominees are captain Bruno Fernandes, the versatile Amad Diallo and reliable centre-back Matthijs De Ligt.
Fernandes provided four assists in four matches. He now ranks fourth for most league assists for United, overtaking legendary midfielder Paul Scholes.
Fernandes, who has won the award once this term, set up both goals at Palace, and provided an assist in the draws at Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur.
Described as ‘superb‘ by legend Rio Ferdinand, De Ligt continued to impress in the heart of United’s defence, starting all four league games last month.
His standout moment came in the 2-2 draw at Spurs, scoring a last-gasp goal to help United rescue a draw, and he was voted Man of the Match.
De Ligt is looking to win the award for the first time, having placed third on two occasions already this term.
Diallo, meanwhile, looks to have regained his form after a slow start to the season, registering two goal involvements in November.
He scored a brilliant volley against Forest — a goal that should be in contention for the Premier League goal of the Month — earning United a point. He was voted Man of the Match for the game.
Diallo also played a vital role against Spurs, setting up Bryan Mbeumo’s opener. The Ivorian won the award three times last term.
Voting is now open on Man United’s official website, and the winner will be announced on Thursday, ahead of the game against West Ham United at Old Trafford.
