One Man Utd star has a habit of hurting West Ham, Amorim is ready to unleash him

PL News Wednesday 3 December 2025 - 08:14

Manchester United will face West Ham United at Old Trafford in the Premier League tomorrow evening.

The Red Devils head into the clash with a worrying statistic, having lost four of their last five league meetings with the Hammers.

With Benjamin Sesko ruled out and Matheus Cunha only just returning from a two-game absence, the pressure to lead the frontline will fall squarely on Bryan Mbeumo’s shoulders.

Mbeumo boasts an outstanding record against West Ham, scoring four goals and providing one assist in seven Premier League encounters.

The 26-year-old moved to Old Trafford from Brentford earlier this summer after the two clubs agreed on a £71 million transfer.

The move was secured after a month of persistent negotiations between the clubs.

That persistence already looks justified, with Mbeumo proving to be one of United’s most influential attackers this season.

Mbeumo has five goals and one assist in 13 league games this campaign.

His fantastic performances helped him win the Premier League Player of the Month award for October.

He is expected to start in the right-sided number 10 position in Amorim’s favoured 3-4-2-1 formation.

West Ham left-back Malick Diouf is likely to be handed the unenviable assignment of trying to contain him.

Cunha, Amad Diallo and Bruno Fernandes have surprisingly never scored a goal against the Hammers.

That makes it even clearer why Ruben Amorim will look to the Cameroon international to inspire United to victory and strengthen their push for a top-four finish.

After quiet displays against Everton and Crystal Palace, Amorim will hope Mbeumo is back to his ruthless best tomorrow.
