Confirmed Man United team news vs West Ham: Two stars ruled out, two doubts but Cunha returns

Manchester United will face West Ham United at Old Trafford in the Premier League tomorrow.

It is a rare mid-week fixture for Man United, who are not part of any European football competition for only the second time since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.

United manager Ruben Amorim has delivered a fresh fitness update ahead of the clash.

He said (via ManUtd.com): “We have two doubts for the game.

“Let’s see if they can play tomorrow. The rest of the squad is good. Matheus is good.

“Harry Maguire and Sesko [are out].”

Benjamin Sesko remains sidelined with the knee injury he picked up during the dramatic 2–2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

Harry Maguire suffered a setback in the same match and has not made an appearance since.

Matheus Cunha missed the last two clashes but is now back in contention for the West Ham fixture.

His return is a major boost for United, who sorely missed his energy, directness, and ability to spark moments in the final third.

He had been ruled out with a head injury sustained in training, but he could now be thrown straight back into the starting XI.

Amorim must now make a difficult decision, as one of the goalscorers from the Crystal Palace victory may have to drop out, with Bryan Mbeumo a nailed-on starter.

Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount were the unexpected heroes at Selhurst Park, but one of them may have to make way for Cunha.

Amorim has added a mystery by revealing that two players are doubts for the game.

He is yet to confirm who are those two players.

Lisandro Martinez made his long-awaited comeback last week and may be eased in again with a few minutes off the bench.

United have lost four of their last five league meetings with West Ham, a run that serves as a stark warning ahead of tomorrow’s fixture.

Coming off a disappointing 1–0 defeat to Everton, Amorim must ensure his players are fully prepared to deliver a response worthy of the Old Trafford crowd.
